PowerPoint Biography Slide Show

 

Technology Objectives
  • Use a productivity tool to design and create a slide show presentation
  • Use imaging devices such as scanners, digital cameras with computer systems and software.
  • Explore instructional possibilities of multimedia

 

With PowerPoint you can easily create a slide show presentation that includes text, clipart, animation and sound. You can edit slides, create speaker notes and print in several different formats.

Directions:

  • Create a Slide Show that introduces a colleague to the group.
  • Use a worksheet to plan your eight slide multimedia presentation.
  • Include text, a digital photograph, clip art and a scanned image.

Steps:

  1. Interview a colleague to create biographical Slide Show. Some of the Information you could include:
    • Name
    • Place of birth
    • Education
    • Profession, Years of teaching
    • Teaching Philosophy (why I teach)
    • Family Ties
    • Hobbies and special talents
    • Future Goals or Plans

    (Each category can become a slide.)

  2. Use the PowerPoint Outline view to create the presentation, typing in your information as you interview.
  3. Collect pictures etc.
  4. Format slides, insert pictures
  5. Create transitions if desired
  6. Rehearse presentation
  7. Create and print handouts
  8. Deliver presentation
